Siem Reap

Siem Reap is the most tourist destination and famed of many temples in Cambodia. Political stability and improving safety allied to active promotion of Angkor Wat as the tourist destination, has resulted in rapidly rising visitor figures.

The town of Siem Reap is known for its famous temples such as Angkor Wat and others temples like Bayon (the temples with towers that have four faces), Ta Prohm, part of which is taken over by nature, vegetation, Preah Khan, and Beng Mealea. Beng Mealea is located about 70 km from Siem Reap centre. It is as bigger as Angkor Wat. Beng Mealea has not been renovated yet and however, it was the capital of the Khmer Empire.

You will find other attractions like hiking or trekking on the top of the hill of Phnom Kulen, in the countryside around the temples or near the Tonle Sap Lake. Visit the floating villages, the park of birds conservation at Prek Toal (seasonal), flooded forest at Kampong Pluk ...
